“The Roman Empire” will once again be clashing with “The King of Kings.”
The finish came when Reigns speared and pinned “The Lunatic Fringe,” after being pummeled with chair shots by his former Shield brother.
This will be the second year in a row that Reigns has headlined WrestleMania. Last year he competed for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the main event against Brock Lesnar. He was on the verge of winning the title, when Seth Rollins came in and cashed in his “Money in the Bank” contract, turning the match into a triple threat contest. He would then pin Reigns to win the World Title.
Reigns’ last run as World Heavyweight Champion began when he defeated Sheamus on the December 14 edition of “Monday Night Raw.” He reign came to an end when he was forced to defend his title in the 2016 “Royal Rumble” match, which was eventually won by Triple H.
Editor’s Note:
This booking was incredibly predictable, but necessary. It’s no secret that WWE wants Reigns to be the face of the company, and now he has the opportunity to prove to the world that he can accomplish this task on his own. He is good in the ring, and should put on a terrific match against the “Cerebral Assassin” at the “Granddaddy of Them All.”
