Damien Sandow has been absent from Monday Night Raw and SmackDown for the majority of the year. He’ll occasionally make an appearance, but it’s not hard for a lot of people to remember that he is still an active wrestler with WWE.

There has been some speculation on social media for the last hour that Sandow was being released by WWE. However, “The Intellectual Savior of the Masses” has responded to the brief rumor and cleared up the situation. Damien Sandow posted the following on Twitter:

A family loss is never easy, but Sandow giving his fans clarity on the situation rather than have the dirtsheets go crazy that he had been released or have some other inaccurate rumors get started.

It’s definitely good of WWE to give him some additional time off to be with his family after the loss of his grandmother, but it obviously wasn’t a major loss for WWE programming.

Hopefully, when Damien Sandow returns he can have another run on WWE television because the fans are still very much behind him.

At the very least, he deserves a solid run in NXT because the smart fans down in Orlando would welcome him with open arms and he could use the WWE Performance Center to work on something new that could get him back into a prominent role on the main roster.
