It was announced on tonight’s episode of “Talking Smack” that Jerry “The King” Lawler will not only be a part of the “Royal Rumble” pre-show with Renee Young and Booker T, but he will also have the opportunity to call the match with Michael Cole and Corey Graves.
In addition to this historic announcement, “The King” also discussed the events of “Smackdown Live” that evening. On his talk show, “King’s Court,” Lawler interviewed Dolph Ziggler and after trading banter back and forth, “The Show Off” would proceed to hit “The King” below the proverbial belt.

Ziggler would show footage of him dropping elbows on Lawler in a match that they were having on an episode of “Monday Night Raw” back in 2012. This was, unfortunately, the same night that “The King” went into cardiac arrest during the live broadcast, and nearly lost his life.

After some more banter, Ziggler kicked Lawler in the chest to end the segment.

Editor’s Note:
This should be great. We always think of the “Royal Rumble” as a time for nostalgia acts to make their return, and this is one way to do it on the commentary team. Also, what a rub for Corey Graves getting to call the 30th anniversary of this historic match along side Cole and Lawler!
