It’s time for a change. According to a report from PWInsider, former Smackdown announcer Kevin Patrick has been released by WWE. This news comes amongst reports that he was removed from the commentary team earlier this week.

According to various reports, Patrick, despite being personally liked, was considered not the right fit for his role in WWE. This sentiment had been present for some time. In an attempt to guide him, WWE initially placed Michael Cole back on the team. However, Patrick’s removal from the team seems to have been a last-minute decision, as he had been scheduled to travel to Smackdown in Florida this week. The sudden change in plans indicates that WWE may have decided to take a different direction.

Editor’s Opinion:

The writing appeared to be on the wall with this one. It’s unfortunate because he seems like a good person and was trying hard to get better. Unfortunately, it just didn’t work out. I do think that he has some talent, however, and will be able to find a future in broadcasting. We all wish him the best in his future endeavors!
