Welcome back. One of the common tropes of modern wrestling is the authority figure, who often shows up and makes various announcements about the show. That role can make for some interesting situations as the right person has to be in the job. WWE has been introducing some new ones as of late and that is the case again, with a surprising name making the announcement.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Call It: WWE Making Change To Broadcasting Team

This week on NXT, William Regal made a surprise return in a backstage segment where he introduced Ava as the new General manager of NXT. Ava has been appearing as an unofficial assistant to NXT executive Shawn Michaels. This makes Ava, 22 years old, the youngest General Manager in NXT history. This was Regal’s first appearance on WWE television since returning to the company over a year ago, following a stint in AEW.

This is a big one. Check out the return, plus Regal and Ava in NXT:

Opinion: This was quite the moment and there is something awesome about seeing Regal back on the show. I’m not sure if he is going to be a regular on NXT, but just the chance that he’s going to be there makes for a nice feeling. At the same time, Ava has more or less been the General Manager for a few weeks now so it makes sense to make it official and make it all more logical.

What do you think of Regal being back on TV? How will Ava do as General Manager? Let us know in the comments below.
