WWE.com recently announced that Fergal “Prince” Devitt has signed with WWE. He will be making his way to NXT in Orlando immediately.

Reports emerged last week over Devitt signing his WWE contract. It now appears that the company is ready to announce that news to the world.

“This is something I’ve been looking forward to since I was maybe four or five years old,” Devitt told the site. “I grew up watching wrestling my whole life, so to get the chance to step in the ring that I’ve watched on TV so many times is a dream come true.”

Devitt mentioned Sami Zayn, Adrian Neville and Becky Lynch as superstars he’d like to work with in NXT developmental. He competed against Zayn (El Generico) and Neville (PAC) on the independent circuit. He also had a hand in training Lynch as well.

As far as the main roster is concerned, Devitt would love to go one-on-one with John Cena because “if you’re wrestling John Cena, you’re wrestling in the main event.”

Devitt is an Irish superstar that recently came off a stint with New Japan Pro Wrestling. His accolades include being a former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, NWA World Historic Middleweight Champion, NWA British Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion, IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion, and two-time winner of the “Best of the Super Juniors” tournament.

While Devitt will likely not be allowed to paint himself as famous comic book characters due to copyright laws, that won’t stop him from expressing himself through his look on the big stage.

“I’ve always got a couple of tricks up my sleeve, so I’m going to come up with something new before then,” he said. “But yeah, look out for the light-up jacket, look out for the body paint. Look out for a new Devitt.”

Editor’s Note

If you’ve never seen Devitt wrestle, do yourself a favor and search YouTube for some of his work. You won’t be disappointed. If used properly, the 33-year-old can be a star in the making for WWE. The idea of Devitt vs. Zayn or Devitt vs. Neville makes my mouth water.
