WWE “SummerSlam” will take place on Aug. 17, live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA.

The only confirmed match for the pay-per-view as of this writing is John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Stephanie McMahon vs. Brie Bella was slated to be added, but as F4WOnline.com reports, that match may be held off until WWE “Night of Champions.” Stephanie has invited Brie to attend the July 28 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” possibly setting up a future bout between the two.

AJ Lee vs. Paige in a rematch for the WWE Divas Championship and Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose are also expected to make the final “SummerSlam” card, both of which could end up being gimmick matches.

One would assume that if a stipulation is added to Rollins vs. Ambrose, it may involve Rollins’ Money in the Bank briefcase.

A Fatal 4-Way match for the WWE Tag Team Champion featuring The Usos and The Wyatt Family (Luke Harper & Erick Rowan) is in the works as well. Goldust & Stardust and Kofi Kingston & Big E are being looked at as teams  that could fill out those final two spots.

Editor’s Note

WWE “SummerSlam” is shaping up to be “Battleground” 2.0 with rematches across the board.
