It had previously been reported that independent wrestling stars Rich Swann and Biff Busick were close to signing contracts with World Wrestling Entertainment, with pending physicals being the only reason why a deal wouldn’t get done.

It appears that the duo have indeed been signed, with reports of physicals possibly preventing them from joining the company being a “ruse.”

It’s expected that Swann and Busick will begin their training down in NXT developmental this October. There’s no word yet on how their remaining indy dates will be handled at this time.

Several other top independent stars will also be making their way to Orlando, as it’s being reported that Johnny Gargano (who appeared on the Sept. 2 episode of “NXT”), Drew Gulak, and “The Kentucky Gentleman” Chuck Taylor have also been signed.

Tommasso Ciampa may also be a part of that group, however, it’s also being reported that he may not be in the good graces of WWE officials at the moment following a tryout match of his.

Editor’s Note

The NXT roster grows deeper, while the indy scene takes another kick to the gut. Those aforementioned names are some of the top names on the market, with promotions like PWG now needing to pick up the pieces to keep the ship afloat.
