A recent injury to the “Ravishing Russian” may keep her out of the “Night of Champions” pay-per-view.
WWE.com confirmed on Monday that Lana had injured her wrist during a training session prior to a recent Live Event. If it requires surgery, her recovery could take upwards of four months.
It was then revealed that at “Night of Champions” on Sept. 20 in Houston, Ziggler and Rusev will go one-on-one in a rematch from their bout at “SummerSlam” in Brooklyn last month.
The preview for the confrontation on WWE.com indicates that Lana will not be present at the pay-per-view:
“Whether Summer’s account is true or just a devious ploy she and Rusev crafted to plant distrust in Lana’s mind, however, remains unclear. Lana’s woes haven’t ended there, either, as she severely injured her wrist while training in the ring on Sept. 6.
Lana’s injury aside, at Night of Champions, The Showoff will look to take The Bulgarian Brute down a peg. Can Ziggler finally conquer the bulldozing Rusev? Watch the intense battle in its entirety when Night of Champions airs live Sunday, Sept. 20, at 8 ET/5 PT, only on WWE Network.”
Lana isn’t featured in the match image on the site either, leading one to believe that she will not be present at the Toyota Center.
She took to Instagram shortly after the injury was announced to make her first comments, revealing how disappointed she is that she’ll have to wait to make her inevitable in-ring debut.
