Two of independent wrestling’s biggest stars could soon be making their debuts for the NXT brand.

During the NXT tapings on Thursday evening, the team of Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano worked a tag team match, defeating the duo of Bull Dempsey and Tyler Breeze.

Breeze and Dempsey worked an angle following the bout, leading one to believe that Ciampa and Gargano will be appearing on NXT programming in the coming weeks.

Ciampa is a former Ring of Honor Television Champion, announcing his departure from the company in late-March. Gargano is a regular for Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.

Editor’s Note

Samoa Joe, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Sami Callihan, Seth Rollins, Cesaro, Dean Ambrose, Finn Balor, Hideo Itami, Apollo Crews………….yep. Triple H loves his stars from across the globe/the independent scene. Look, there’s no way of knowing at this moment whether Ciampa and Gargano have been signed to deals, but it’s certainly a good sign, based off the reports from the NXT tapings, that they defeated two regulars for the brand in Dempsey and Breeze. I really hope they get a shot, because they certainly deserve it.
