Nikki Bella Officially Becomes Second-Longest Reigning WWE Divas Champion

Nikki Bella is closing in on becoming the longest-reigning WWE Divas Champion in company history.

On June 28, Nikki surpassed former WWE Diva Maryse’s 216 days as Divas Champion to move into second all-time behind A.J. Lee’s 295.

To celebrate the milestone, Nikki took to her Instagram account to thank her fans for all of their support.

Today is history for me. Today is an honor. Today makes me smile so big. Today makes me your 2nd longest reigning Divas Champion. Today I will sit and reflect over the past 9 years of my life. My journey here into the wrestling world. My love and dreams. Dreams really do come true, you have to believe, work hard, and never give up. Write your dreams down and look at them daily. Nikki won the title at WWE “Survivor Series” on Nov. 23 of last year, defeating A.J. in a match that lasted no longer than 35 seconds.

Editor’s Note

As difficult as it may be to admit, not just anyone can hold the title for as long as Nikki has. She’s grown leaps and bounds between the ropes and become a champion worthy of carrying the strap. The question now becomes which female performer will be the one to dethrone her, as several top Divas in the division (Paige, Natalya, Naomi) have fallen at her feet.
