Finally…The Rock…has come back…to Boston.

Multi-time WWE Champion and Hollywood star The Rock made a surprise return to WWE Saturday night before a shocked crowd in Boston, Massachusetts. He came out and interrupted Bo Dallas, who was already in the ring. WWE Superstar Chris Jericho captured his shocking entrance on video.

The Rock and Dallas had a verbal back and forth in the ring, before The Rock took over. He would hit a “Rock Bottom” on Dallas before leaving the ring and giving a salute to the city of Boston.

This is The Rock’s first in-ring appearance for WWE since WrestleMania. At the biggest event of the year, he made a surprise return to confront Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, as The Authority bragged about the former’s victory over Sting earlier in the night. This gave legs to a rumored WrestleMania 32 match between the two former champions, as The Rock is expected to be involved with the big event in Dallas, Texas. He would then get Ronda Rousey involved in the segment, which led to much speculation she would join him in the ring against Stephanie. However, it does not appear this will come to fruition anytime soon.

This appears to be The Rock’s first live event appearance for WWE since his full-time status with the company ended in 2003. He would fight once more at WrestleMania XX, teaming with Mick Foley to battle Evolution, before not stepping in a ring again until “Survivor Series” 2011. Since then, he has wrestled several matches, which included a WWE Championship run lasting from January 2013 through April, where he dropped the title to John Cena.

Editor’s Note

Think they got their ticket’s worth in Boston? This is a good way to keep him relevant, and my guess is, he’ll have more involvement as we get closer to January or so.
