Charlotte calls herself the queen. It’s part of her heel persona, but it is also reflective of her place within the hierarchy of WWE’s female wrestlers. However, if there can only be one queen of WWE, and for the sake of argument let’s say that is the case, there is somebody else sitting on Charlotte’s throne, and her name is Alexa Bliss.

Now, this is not to say Charlotte sucks and Bliss is great. No, Charlotte is great, but Bliss is even better. While it wasn’t until after the WWE split into two brands this summer that Bliss debuted, in her short time with the company she’s already climbed to the top of the list of the best, most enjoyable female superstars.

Bliss and Charlotte are basically physical opposites. Charlotte is wrestling royalty, the daughter of Ric Flair. She’s amazingly athletic, and she’s got a size advantage on basically any woman who isn’t Nia Jax. Bliss, on the other hand, is five feet of fury. She’s a tiny dynamo who simply can’t do some of the physical things Charlotte can. However, that doesn’t mean Bliss isn’t a strong in-ring performer in her own right. She’s particularly good at selling offense for her opponents. Becky Lynch is a really good wrestler herself, but she looks even better when she’s tangling with Bliss.

Charlotte and Alexa are their respective brand’s top heels, and they both excel in that role. Charlotte has become quite adept on the mic, but this is where Bliss really shines. Bliss oozes charisma. She’s got personality to spare. She’s not just good on the mic, though. Bliss is always performing. Whether she’s on her way to the ring, or even when she’s in the middle of a match, Bliss is playing it up for the audience. It’s wonderful. There was one moment before a match where she and Natalya were on a team, and Alexa covered her ears in disgust while one of their opponents’ theme music played. Natalya noticed and followed suit, but it speaks to Bliss’ natural performing skills. Plus, one time she cosplayed as Freddy Krueger while she wrestled.

Clearly, both RAW and Smackdown are good to go when it comes to their top heels, but in the (admittedly made up) battle for the queen of WWE, Alexa Bliss comes out on top in 2016.
