Bayley is Ready For Her Shot as RAW’s Top Female Face

The long standing, back-and-forth feud between Sasha Banks and Charlotte has seemingly come to its conclusion, with Charlotte (yet again) beating Banks for the title at Roadblock. This is for the best, as their feud had reached its logical conclusion, and threatened to get repetitive, especially with all the title changes.

In the meantime, Banks seems to have moved onto a feud with Nia Jax, a David vs Goliath type thing. However, where does that leave Charlotte? Evidently, in a feud with Bayley.

This a great news for Bayley fans, of which there are many. It’s quite clear how over Bayley is with the crowd as a face. She’s about as pure of a babyface as you will find in pro wrestling these days, while Charlotte is perfectly cast in the role of the snide, condescending champ. Fortunately, she can walk the walk, because she’s an excellent in-ring performer. It’s a pretty perfect setup. People want to see Charlotte knocked off her pedestal, and they’d love to see Bayley, who they already are into, be the one to do it. It’ll be a sweet comeuppance, presuming it happens eventually, although it might take a while. Hopefully it takes a while, because the constant changing of hands for the belt has been a bit much.

Based on Charlotte and Bayley’s match on RAW, this feud should also work in the ring. Bayley hasn’t always looked great since getting the call up from NXT, but that may be a result of her seemingly always wrestling Dana Brooke, a wrestler whose skills are, at best, marginal. Charlotte and Bayley can wrestle on a much higher level, and getting in the ring with somebody as talented as Charlotte clearly helps Bayley. The Charlotte-Sasha feud was quite good, but Charlotte vs. Bayley has the potential to be just as good, and maybe even better. Get excited, huggers.
