On Wednesday, Jan. 22, WWE.com posted the latest sit-down interview with WWE COO Triple H. However, this time, Renee Young filled in for Michael Cole. Cole was also absent for the Jan. 21 tapings of “WWE Main Event” and “WWE Smackdown.” The two talked about the hottest topics regarding WWE’s current product such as the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, Batista’s return to WWE, and more.
When asked if WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton redeemed himself on the latest “Monday Night Raw,” the “King of Kings” said he will know at the conclusion of the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. WWE’s COO also talked about the Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show match set for the event, stating no matter the result, it is “best for business.” Triple H said that Lesnar is the most amazing athlete that he has ever went up against, and Show always rises to the occasion.
Triple H also reiterated that The Authority doesn’t have it out for CM Punk. Regarding his number-one entrant status for the 30-man Royal Rumble pay-per-view, Triple H said that someone has to go in first every year. Additionally, Triple H said, “he’s the best in the world,” when asked how Punk would fare, with a wide grin on his face.
“The Game” also talked about Batista’s return to WWE on the latest edition of “Monday Night Raw,” and if he can become the “Face of WWE.” At first HHH said it would be premature to refer to him as the face of the company. However, when asked if he’d view him as such if he were to win the 30-man Royal Rumble match, Triple H said, “it’s not all that hard to imagine” Batista as the “Face of WWE,” if that were to happen.
