On Friday, April 3, WWE announced that three-time Divas Champion AJ Lee parted ways with the company, retiring from in-ring competition within WWE. Her last match was on the March 30 showing of “Monday Night Raw,” where she was involved in a six-Diva tag match in which her team picked up the victory. The night prior, at WrestleMania 31, AJ Lee teamed up with Paige to defeat The Bella Twins. It would be AJ Lee, utilizing her “Black Widow,” who scored the submission victory.
