New Divas Champion Crowned at “Night of Champions”

The only Divas Championship match at the 2014 showing of “Night of Champions” saw Paige attempt to defend her title in a Triple Threat match. On Sept. 21, in Nashville, Tennessee at the Bridgestone Arena, AJ Lee, Nikki Bella, and Paige went toe to toe.

In the end, AJ Lee would defeat Paige and Nikki Bella by making Paige submit to the “Black Widow” to reclaim the Divas Championship.  Just prior to that, AJ Lee all but eliminated Nikki Bella, throwing her harshly outside the ring.

AJ Lee and Paige have swapped the Divas Championship multiple times. AJ Lee returned at “Battleground” to take the title from Paige, who quickly gained it back at “SummerSlam.” AJ Lee is now a three-time Divas Champion. She is also the longest reigning Divas Championship with a 295 day reign, which was ended by Paige on the “Monday Night Raw” after WrestleMania XXX.
