In a recent tweet, WWE teases “The Next Generation” is coming on Sept. 22. While many are speculating on what the company’s cryptic post could mean, the tease may relate to the upcoming “WWE 2K15” video game, not the re-re-debut of the Nexus faction in some way, shape, or form.

The tweet causing the uproar on Social Media is as follows,

Some believe that WWE is teasing the main roster debuts of NXT superstars. While NXT Champion Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn have both competed on “Monday Night Raw,” they are not currently main stays on the main roster as of yet. Other NXT stars like The Ascension have been rumored for a main roster debut for some time, but have not graced the big stage just yet.

WWE recently posted an interview held with Zayn, Neville, and fellow former independent wrestling superstars KENTA (Hideo Itami), Kevin Steen, and “Prince” Fergal Devitt on WWE.com. Zayn had posted a tweet about the five former independent stars finally being under the WWE umbrella for the first time, and fans retweeted the post more times than WWE believed they would.

The article focused on the tweet, the fan response in regards to the five comrades being signed by WWE, their goals, and more. What the article did on a subconscious level however, was it highlighted five superstars that the WWE Universe believes is the future of the company. That thought alone is what causes some people to believe WWE’s tweet about “The Next Generation” has to do with NXT superstars such as Zayn, Neville, Steen, Devitt, and Itami.

However, the tease could very well be related to the upcoming “WWE 2K15” video game. WWE and 2K have used “Next Generation” in their tag lines for the upcoming release since the title was announced, and while many believe WWE’s tease is regarding the debut of NXT superstars on “Monday Night Raw,” it could actually be in regards to the debut of NXT superstars in a WWE video game.

As previously reported, the achievements list for “WWE 2K15” recently leaked online featuring achievements that can only be unlocked by defeating opponents with NXT superstars. This caused many to believe that NXT superstars will be featured in “WWE 2K15,” though no announcement had previously been made during the official roster reveal.

The first major announcement regarding “WWE 2K15” was made during an episode of “Monday Night Raw” back in July after weeks of Social Media “teasery” as well. The announcement of Sting’s long-awaited involvement with the company came at the hands of 2K and WWE when they debuted an ad featuring the former WCW and TNA World Heavyweight Champion. Sting will be making his WWE video game debut in “WWE 2K15” as the pre-order bonus character.

Sting had teased a date on Twitter and Facebook for weeks leading up to the announcement, drawing viewers to “Monday Night Raw” in hopes of an appearance. This time WWE is teasing something big on a Monday, “The Next Generation,” which could mean a number of different things, but probably relates to NXT’s inclusion in “WWE 2K15.”

“WWE 2K15” will be released in the U.S. on the PlayStation 4/Xbox One consoles on Nov. 14, and on the PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 consoles on Oct. 28.

Editor’s Note:
More than likely this is a tease for the NXT/”WWE 2K15″ announcement. I DEFINITELY do not see them putting Steen and Devitt on “RAW” before they have them compete in an NXT match. No way.
