On Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014, the year’s edition of the “Tables, Ladders, and Chairs” pay-per-view occurred in Cleveland, Ohio, at the Quicken Loans Arena. The opening bout of the night was a Ladder match featuring hometown boy Dolph Ziggler challenging current Intercontinental Champion Luke Harper.
In what would go down as one of the best matches of the night, Dolph Ziggler bested Luke Harper, reclaiming the Intercontinental Championship. With the victory, Ziggler is now a four-time Intercontinental Champion. Additionally, this is the second time Ziggler has captured the prestigious title through a ladder match.
On the Nov. 10 showing of “Monday Night Raw,” Dolph Ziggler’s 56 day reign as Intercontinental Champion ended in a singles match against Harper. With the aid of The Authority, who were in charge of WWE at the time, Harper got his first taste of championship gold in WWE.
