Bubba Ray Dudley returned at the “Royal Rumble” n Sunday, Jan. 25. WWE aired the 2015 “Royal Rumble” pay-per-view live from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the Wells Fargo Center. The city had been a special home to the Dudleyz when they were tag team mainstays in ECW.
Dudley returned during the Royal Rumble Match at No. 3. Upon entering, he and R-Truth did two Dudley Boyz specials, a top rope “Wha’zup” headbutt, and a 3-D. He was then eliminated shortly after.
Since 2005, one of WWE’s greatest tag teams of all-time, worked for TNA. With the company, the duo found success, becoming two-time TNA World Tag Team Champions. Additionally, under the promotion, they were once NWA World Tag Team Champions. In 2014, the duo were inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame, as the third and fourth members.
Bubba, known as Bully Ray in TNA, was rumored to have left TNA in the middle of August. However, the two-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion would end up signing a short-term deal with the company. With the deal, the duo, now known as Team 3D, made their last appearances for TNA to date at the 2014 “Bound for Glory” event.
