As we at WrestlingRumors.net previously reported, at “Smackdown” tapings on Tuesday, Oct. 28, through Big Show, WWE made it known that Daniel Bryan needs to undergo another elbow surgery. Show would not elaborate on what type of surgery Bryan needed, but previous reports would state that the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion is slated to have Tommy John surgery.

With WWE’s confirmation of Bryan needing another surgery, the most recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter, written by Dave Meltzer, provided the latest news on the Daniel Bryan injury front. WWE has been careful on what it has decided to put out regarding Bryan’s status, as its announcement on Tuesday was one of the few details it has released about Bryan’s prolonged injury.

It is unknown if Bryan will indeed have Tommy John surgery, but wrestlers in the WWE locker room have been talking about Bryan needing some sort of major elbow surgery. If the procedure is indeed Tommy John surgery, Bryan’s recovery time will be extended even longer, likely extending into March of 2015, at the very least. In fact, a WWE source informed Meltzer that there is no concrete timetable for Bryan to make a WWE return. Even further, there are no guarantees that Bryan will be able to make an in-ring return for the company at all.

Editor’s Note

This is a damn shame for Bryan. Hopefully he is able to make a full recovery upon his next procedure, and keep his wrestling career alive.
