Moviepilot.com is reporting that actor Liev Schreiber will be playing the role of Chris Benoit in the upcoming film CrossFace. The movie will take a look at Chris Benoit’s career, from his training with the Hart family to the tragic double-murder suicide that shocked the world. The  director Vicente Amorim and writer Sarah Coulter plan to go inside the mind of Benoit, starting with his alleged drug abuse after the passing of his dear friend Eddie Guerrero.

The staff of the film also want to focus on how Benoit forever changed the landscape of the WWE because of the supposed drug abuse leading to the double-murder suicide. We previously reported that Nancy Benoit’s sister says the tragedy was a direct result of “roid rage.” Head writer Coulter plans on having lots of WWE superstars from Triple H to chairman Vince McMahon in the film. It is unknown if they will be portrayed, or if they will actually appear in the movie.
