This year’s WrestleMania was over 7 hours long if you include the pre-show, which is way too long. But, there was an idea that was brought up during the Q&A portion of Monday’s Wrestling Observer Radio that, if implicated, would make WWE’s biggest show of the year not seem so long.

Alvarez: “Do you think WWE will ever consider spreading WrestleMania over two nights?”

Meltzer: “I believe they should. That’s my new opinion after a 7-hour show. If it was two 3-and-a-half hour shows… The thing is, if it was a couple of years ago, it would be bad because you couldn’t sell out both shows, and you’d have two empty buildings. But now with all those people in town, I mean, I don’t know if you had a [AT&T Stadium] type building, that might be difficult. But this Orlando building, I think that they probably could’ve.

“If you look two years in the future, and the different people that are gonna be coming in to WWE and the level of talent that they’re gonna have, I mean, they’re gonna have a depth of talent like WCW used to have, and hopefully they won’t squander it like WCW did. To get all the good matches with all that talent, to do that talent justice, two eight match cards where you go 3-and-a-half or 4 hours on two nights would be immeasurably better than what we had [on Sunday].”
