On Monday, it was revealed that the Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns match for the Universal Championship will be a no disqualification match. We also know that Chris Jericho will be hanging above the ring in a shark cage during the match. So, in theory, he’ll be unable to interfere.
So, why did WWE decide to make the Universal Title match a no DQ match? Well, there are a few possible answers to that question. But, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, one of two things is going to happen: either Jericho will somehow find a way to get involved in the finish, or Seth Rollins, who is no longer in the Royal Rumble match, will help Roman Reigns win as a way for him to get back at Triple H.
If Rollins does interfere and assist Reigns in winning the Universal Championship, the crowd may not boo Roman as much as they would if he just won it by himself. So, there’s that.
You never know though, WWE could just be doing a no DQ match just to simply do a no DQ match. So, we might not see any outside interference.
