Kenny Omega Reacts to WWE Pulling YouTube Video About Him, Discusses Free Agency

On Thursday, WWE posted a video where they asked their superstars who they would like to see be a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble, and Seth Rollins’ answer was Kenny Omega. Shortly after the video was published, WWE decided to pull it, and re-upload it without the Omega mention.

Later on Thursday, Omega did an interview with Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, where he reacted to WWE pulling the video that mentioned him, and his free agency, where he said that he’s heavily leaning towards signing with one promotion over the over.

“I really don’t feel like I’m at liberty to say anything because there’s really no details to share. I’m just a free man and I thought I’d just sit around and do nothing and bide my time and exercise my options to wait and negotiate. Since then I’ve decided to take a couple of bookings, but I haven’t really decided one way or another what I’m gonna do. I am leaning more so in one direction than another, but that doesn’t mean that things can’t turn around at a moment’s notice. It’s really what’s on the table, and what I feel will make a difference for me career wise. Like I said before on the Tazz show, this isn’t a ‘who’s gonna outbid the other guy’ kinda thing. It’s not that at all. I’m still young, I’m still healthy, and I just wanna make a difference in the wrestling world.”

Kenny Omega’s deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling doesn’t expire until January 31, so he won’t be able to appear in the Royal Rumble, unless of course WWE is able to work something out with NJPW.
