In an effort to make their show seem unpredictable, WWE had Chris Jericho defeat Kevin Owens for the United States Championship, even though Y2J is going to leave the company at the beginning of May to go on tour with his band Fozzy.

According to Cageside Seats, Jericho’s title reign probably won’t last all that long. In fact, he’ll probably end up dropping it right back to Kevin Owens on Tuesday’s SmackDown, which will lead to KO vs. AJ Styles at Backlash.

If WWE, for whatever reason, decides to not do a Y2J vs. KO rematch on Tuesday, they could have Jericho drop the title to another SmackDown star, maybe even Dolph Ziggler, which would make Ziggler vs. Nakamura at Backlash a United States Championship match.

For now, Chris Jericho is a SmackDown superstar, but, as previously mentioned, he’ll probably only be on the show once before he goes out on tour. The upcoming Fozzy tour isn’t a long one, as it’ll begin and end in May, so we might see Jericho return to WWE before the summer officially begins.
