Jinder Mahal is currently scheduled to take on Randy Orton for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the SmackDown exclusive show, Backlash on May 21. However, it doesn’t look like the jobber turned main eventer will end up winning the title later this month.

According to Cageside Seats, there are no plans for Jinder Mahal to win the WWE Championship anytime soon. So, his run in the WWE main event scene won’t last very long unless something changes.

WWE has changed their plans in the past based on crowd reaction, and we’re still about three weeks away from the Backlash show, so things could change between now and then, and, who knows, maybe we’ll actually see Jinder win the company’s top prize.

We did see Jinder get involved in the House of Horrors match between Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt, as he hit the Apex Predator with multiple belt shots, which led to him getting pinned by Bray. We’ll almost certainly get a follow up to that on Tuesday’s SmackDown.
