John Cena has been adamant since taking on more projects outside of WWE that his priority is WWE and everything he does is ultimately to help promote the company. It’s true that his role is changing on WWE programming, but that’s potentially a good thing.
If Cena’s role in WWE is no longer essential to the product, then it will allow him and WWE officials to pull the trigger on some things that the WWE Universe have been asking to see for years. For example, his long-awaited heel turn.
According to a recent report from Forbes.com, WWE officials are discussing the idea of turning Cena heel more seriously than they have in years, especially considering his role on WWE television isn’t as strong as it used to be when he was wrestling full-time.
The biggest reason for turning John Cena now is that he’d be able to help get the next generation of top WWE faces over, and provide new life to the WWE product that could help with ratings. Not only that but Cena could do things he’s never been able to do.
Not only that but Cena could do things he’s never been able to do. The expectation is that Cena will return from his hiatus and enter into a feud with The Undertaker to culminate at Wrestlemania 33. That could be a perfect scenario for a Cena heel turn.
