The recent news about a future match between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg becoming more or less official has set the wrestling world on fire.
The backstage latest is that match will take place at “Survivor Series” next month, but most people were expecting it to take place at Wrestlemania 33 next year. However, there are a few reasons why WWE has decided to have the match this soon.
According to a report from CageSideSeats.com, the biggest reason why WWE is pushing Goldberg vs. Lesnar for “Survivor Series” is to sell WWE 2K17 shortly after it’s release.
As far as WWE’s creative plans for Lesnar coming off “Summerslam” are concerned, the powers that be have already chosen his opponent for Wrestlemania 33 and they aren’t likely to change it anytime soon. Apparently, their choice is set in stone.
A few months back, there was a rumor that Brock could be facing Shane McMahon on the grandest stage of them all, which will be a storyline. The only issue that will arise is the predictability of that match based on the unlikelihood of Shane beating Lesnar.
