The debate about the finish of Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton at “Summerslam” is still going strong with a lot of people complaining about protecting wrestler’s safety.

You’ll notice that the only guy who has a legitimate grip to complain hasn’t said a word. Randy Orton hasn’t said one word about the brutal finish of the match. He just did what was asked of him and moved on.

As it turns out, Vince McMahon was the one who booked the finish because he didn’t want to hurt Orton’s momentum by having him be pinned or be force to submit to Lesnar. In a small way, that’s a victory.

According to a report from RingSideNews.com, Vince McMahon really appreciates the way Randy Orton took the entire situation and the beating from Lesnar. He’s said to be very high on The Viper right now.

The rumors have John Cena and Dean Ambrose taking hiatuses from WWE programming for the majority of the year, which leaves SmackDown in some trouble. It looks like Randy Orton will be filling that role and is expected to feud with AJ Styles after “No Mercy.”
