Rare is the day when Vince McMahon appears on WWE television. Of course, he’s still running the show every week and has control over everything. However, SmackDown 1000 seemed like an obvious place for Mr. McMahon to return on-screen. A lot of fans are confused why Vince chose to be part of “TruthTV” or a glorified dancing segment.
According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon really just wanted to have some fun in the opening segment to set the tone for the night. His intention was just to goof around and dance with his children. “TruthTV” has become a fun gag on SmackDown this month, so Vince’s involvement may have really put it over.

Some of the WWE Universe may not be thrilled with Mr. McMahon return being wasted for a fun segment during SmackDown 1000. More people would have preferred a major angle to take place involving him like his last appearance with Kevin Owens. However, it still important for people to recognize Vince McMahon’s character as serious and fun.
For R-Truth and Carmella, The Boss did them a favor. “TruthTV” is a new segment, but it has gained a lot of steam in just two weeks. With Vince’s involvement, the new segment should have more momentum with the WWE Universe and continue to be a fun part of the show. The angle of seeing who will be in the “dance break” is an entertaining gag.
No one knows when The Boss will make his next appearance on camera, but that’s part of the appeal. More often than not, the WWE Universe knows that when Vince makes an appearance, it will be important or he’s going to do is best to make it as fun as possible.
