And so it begins. One of the biggest stories in wrestling at the moment is the upcoming Crown Jewel pay per view. While that on its own isn’t the most interesting thing, the fact that it’s taking place in Saudi Arabia is. The country has been in the news lately due to various allegations and that was bound to get attention at one point or another. Now that point has come.

On a recent episode of Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, Oliver was discussing the recent disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who may have been killed by Saudi Arabian agents. Oliver brought up the recent deal between the Saudi Arabian government and WWE, mentioning that the deal has been in place for months now and WWE is still going through with Crown Jewel despite the controversy. You can see Oliver’s comments in the video below, starting at 7:05. He brings up WWE again at the end:

Opinion: You knew this was coming in one form or another at some point. WWE isn’t exactly the most beloved company in the world in the first place and working with a country that isn’t in great standing at the moment isn’t going to do much good. That being said, if WWE isn’t going to be looked at fondly no matter what, maybe it’s best for them to just take the money that is being offered to them.

Do you think the show should be canceled? Will this backfire on WWE at the end? Let us know in the comments below.
