The original plans for Reigns vs. Rollins called for Roman to become the WWE Champion for the first time. However, there has been a lot of speculation that plans have changed, and there may even be a heel turn in the cards for Reigns this Sunday.
According to PWInsider, WWE officials were planning on Reigns winning the title at “Survivor Series”. It is now being reported that Rollins getting hurt has not altered the plans for WWE officials whatsoever.
There has been no panic from within WWE. The plan is still for Reigns to win the WWE Championship this Sunday. On paper, there are no plans for any major swerve to occur along with Reigns winning the title.
Unfortunately, Reigns vs. Rollins would have led to rematches for the next few months until Royal Rumble. WWE will have to alter the first challenger for Reigns after this Sunday.
The card is always subject to change, and this could be a red herring. However, unless something within WWE changes, it appears Roman is the next WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
