After weeks of being called out by John Cena, The Undertaker returned and dominated him at WrestleMania 34 in a squash match. It was not what the WWE Universe had in mind for their match, but that wasn’t what WWE officials had originally planned either.
The action inside the ring went down exactly how it was intended, but the powers that be had other plans for The Deadman’s entrance. According to a report from DirtySheets, the original plan was to have the classic Undertaker entrance for only thirty seconds.

After entering the Superdome with his normal theatrics, The Undertaker would have pulled an American flag out of his cloak. Kid Rock would have taken the stage and The Deadman would have finished his entrance to his “American Bad Ass” theme song.
Those plans were scrapped during the weekend after Kid Rock’s Hall of Fame speech included some controversial political views. The company didn’t want to make any kind of political statement. The entrance was canceled and all of The Undertaker’s “American Bad Ass” merchandise was pulled from the shelves but is now for sale on WWEShop.
The Phenom’s WrestleMania 34 was still as awe-inspiring as ever:
Any fans that were disappointed by The Phenom’s appearance on the grandest stage of them all didn’t complain about his entrance. The length of the match and the ending of it were the main criticisms. The change of entrance would have been cool, but it wasn’t necessary.
WWE officials might go back to the idea after some time passes. The Deadman also had a Casket match against Rusev at the Greatest Royal Rumble. He’s wrestling more than he has in recent years. The idea could be brought back for Summerslam or Survivor Series.
