WrestlingRumors has reported that WWE officials have a specific plan for The People’s Champion if he agrees for another run with the company. The plan is for The Rock to appear at SmackDown 1000. He would actually wrestle in the Royal Rumble, and there is a good chance he would win the match and face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 35.

With only a few weeks left, the WWE Universe is wondering if The Great One has been locked down for SmackDown 1000. According to a report from Pro Wrestling Unlimited, WWE officials haven’t locked him down yet for the show. The Rock is in London filming a spin-off film of the Fast and Furious franchise, which puts the entire plan in jeopardy.

In an ideal situation, The People’s Champion would be the first person you would see on the 1000th edition of SmackDown. He might do a promo via satellite, but that is not the same as a live appearance in Washington DC. WWE officials are probably working with him to figure out a solution, but his status for SmackDown 1000 is still up in the air.

The likelihood of The Rock taking significant time off in Hollywood to train for one last run with WWE is hard to say. The Saudi are said to be offering a ridiculous number at him for a match at ‘Crown Jewel.’ The money may be tough to turn down and offer him the time necessary to get back into shape for Saudi Arabia and maybe WrestleMania 35.

Since Wrestlemania 35 will be in New York next year, it could be a perfect scenario for The People’s Champion to receive his inevitable WWE Hall of Fame induction. There’s more than one way to showcase The Rock at the event if he can’t wrestle. Before WWE fans get ahead of themselves, let’s see if The Great One returns for SmackDown 1000.
