The career status of The Undertaker has been a mystery since Wrestlemania 32. The last we heard, he was furious with Vince McMahon for trying to push him into returning earlier than he wanted.

Frankly, it’s a testament to the respect and career Undertaker has had that the WWE Universe lets him slide on working one match a year while The Rock, HHH, and others get so much flack for doing the same thing.

Even if The Undertaker has one more Wrestlemania left him for Orlando next year, it’s crystal clear that his final match already happened, or it will happen very soon.

Despite most of the rumors about his career being over, there is still speculation that The Deadman will be returning to WWE programming for Wrestlemania 33, but the creative plans are all leading to John Cena.

Because of that, the expectation is that The Undertaker will be returning to sell that match in advance and a recent report is claiming he’ll be returning to WWE television at the “Royal Rumble.”

John Cena vs. The Undertaker is set to be an epic battle, which could easily serve as Taker’s retirement match in his twenty-fifth Wrestlemania match. The story basically writes itself.
