Unfortunately, this match would have been a much more epic encounter if it had been done before Brock Lesnar broke The Undertaker’s Undefeated Streak at Wrestlemania 30. Cena vs. Undertaker is still a dream match-up that will be a major headliner for next year’s event.
A match of this magnitude is highly anticipated because the larger question of who wins is a matter of considerable debate. On one hand, The Undertaker could call it a career after Wrestlemania 32 in Texas, so losing to Cena and putting him over makes sense.
On the contrary, it’s Wrestlemania. Undertaker should go out with a win to cement his legacy with a Wrestlemania record of 23-1. It’s highly likely that he’ll attempt to go to twenty-five wins before he calls it a career. All that means is if Cena isn’t this year, this match will happen over the next three years.
Another question is if this will be a face vs. face scenario or if The Undertaker will make a full heel turn through The Wyatt Family at this month’s “Survivor Series”. A heel Undertaker vs. a face John Cena makes a lot more sense for those characters to fight.
If this match is set in stone, there won’t be any signs of it on WWE television until Cena returns at the earliest.
