According to Wrestlezone.com, the voting for this year’s Slammys was entirely legitimate. The winners were the true winners with the most votes within the poll times. Regardless if you agree or disagree with the choices, they were not “rigged” by WWE in any way.
WWE is actually looking for ways to change the voting process and how the Slammys are presented on Raw every year. It’s being said that most of the complaints from fans were about the lack of top stars appearing to accept the awards they had won fairly. That makes the Slammy Awards look very unimportant to the WWE.
WWE is proposing for the WWE Universe to hold the voting ahead of time to determine the winners and ensure that the winners are in attendance, or have made pretaped acceptance videos.
Another possibility is to hold the Slammy Awards during Wrestlemania weekend. For example, WWE could hold the award show on Friday, NXT Takeover on Saturday, and Wrestlemania on Sunday.
It’s very unlikely we’ll see the Slammy Awards that unorganized again in WWE.
