Yesterday, there was a report going around with several sources that the former NXT Women’s Champion Bayley potentially went down with a leg injury.

That report stated that during a reversal from a suplex by Nia Jax, Bayley’s knee “buckled” and she had to be carried off by trainers after several more minutes of working the match.

The rumor made the rounds that “The Queen of Hug Style” went down with an injury, but it’s now being reported that is not the case.

According to DailyWrestlingNews.com, Bayley was not injured at all, and the “injury” was an angle for a potential storyline. Even the “trainer” that helped her at ringside was actually an indie wrestler hired for the role.

There is no more information at this time about the angle, or what NXT has planned for Bayley in the near future, but it’s possible this angle could lead to the next chapter of her career after losing the NXT Women’s Championship to Asuka at NXT Takeover: Dallas a few weeks ago.

The current expectation is that Bayley will make her full transition to WWE’s main roster at some point this summer.

Of course, those plans can always change, but if there is a unique “injury” angle being planned for her, we’re going to have to wait a few weeks to see it on NXT programming to judge it.

Do you think Bayley should become the first two-time NXT Women’s Champion?
