Rumor: “Highlight Reel” Segment at “Battleground” Could Lead to Feud Between Jericho & Orton

It was revealed during this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw that Chris Jericho will be hosting the next edition of “The Highlight Reel” segment with special guest Randy Orton.

We know that Y2J is going to ask Orton about his injury, his time away from the ring, and his upcoming match with Brock Lesnar at “Summerslam.” What’s creating speculation is if the segment will lead to something more.

As of this writing, we don’t know a lot other than Lesnar vs. Orton will take place in the ring at “Summerslam” in late August. We don’t know anything about the build up for that match.

Brock Lesnar isn’t likely to make many appearances between “Battleground” and “Summerslam,” but we don’t know if Paul Heyman will be taking his place.

At the same time, Orton’s health has been all over the place recently when it comes to the rumor mill. The latest rumor has him training at the WWE Performance Center, but we don’t know when he’s going to be medically cleared.

If Orton is cleared to wrestle, it’s very likely he’ll need to work with someone over the next month to get the ring rust off him and prepare for Lesnar. Chris Jericho could be the perfect man for that role.
