Last night, Samoa Joe shockingly defeated Finn Balor and became the NXT Champion during an NXT live event from Lowell, Massachusetts. The shock wasn’t that Joe won, it was that Balor lost the title so suddenly and on such a small stage.

However, it’s created a lot of speculation about Finn Balor’s future. The rumors are claiming that he could be making his main roster debut as early as this Monday night on Raw.

According to a report from DailyWrestlingNews.com, a great deal of the speculation is that after the show, Balor screamed to some fans cheering for him outside that “he’d see them on Monday!”

While Balor may still debut on the main roster next week, the title change that occurred last night in Lowell had been planned for quite some time.

The plan is for Joe to win the title in a surprise like this, then build to a big match stipulation at the next Takeover event, which will keep Balor in NXT for a least another month or two.

On the Wrestling Observer Live show today, Bryan Alvarez said, “Don’t look so much at what happened on this Lowell, MA house show, but when they tape TV next week, that’s when you should be paying attention because a lot of questions will be answered at those TV tapings.”
