The feud between Seth Rollins and the WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens is about a lot more than the WWE Universal title. The fact is that it’s the battle between the two best performers on Raw competing to prove who is the better man.
Owens vs. Rollins is going to hit an apex at “Hell in a Cell” in two weeks because the former will make have his first match inside the structure that has forged many WWE careers into history. Meanwhile, Rollins will return to claim what is rightfully his.
The interesting thing was WWE’s decision to book Owens vs. Rollins inside the “Hell in a Cell” structure because the original plans didn’t call for that, and there were rumors of Chris Jericho getting involved with the WWE Universal title picture.
According to a report from CageSideSeats.com, WWE had a specific reason for putting the WWE Universal Championship match inside “Hell in a Cell.” The decision was made to put Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte and Roman Reigns vs. Rusev inside The Cell.
WWE officials felt that if the United States title and the Women’s Championship were being defended inside the “Hell in a Cell,” then the WWE Universal title needed to be as well because it would have made Raw’s title look weaker when it should be the top title.
