Roman Reigns is the new United States Champion after defeating Rusev at “Clash of Champions.” It should not come as a surprise since there really wasn’t anywhere else to go with the feud, but it’s a great thing.

Reigns as the US Champion is not only a great thing for him because the WWE fans will actually accept him in that role, which may cut him some slack and get him over a legitimate fan favorite by the end of 2016.

The great thing about Reigns being the US Champion is the boost that will give to Raw’s midcard, which will give the entire midcard a legitimacy that it didn’t have before just like what John Cena did back in 2015.

Rusev did an excellent job of bringing prestige back to the US title after the Alberto Del Rio and Kalisto title reigns essentially destroyed the title’s momentum. Reigns will end up with more credit than him, but the feud between the two men makes Rusev a main event player just by being able to hang with Roman.

That’s what will happen to the rest of the Raw roster that challenges Reigns for the US title. On paper, that will make essentially everyone on Raw a potential main event player, which will be an amazing thing.
