The point is that NXT is here to stay, and WWE has given NXT a big-time position during Wrestlemania 32 weekend. Not only is The Rock going to appear at Wrestlemania in Dallas, but NXT will feature the brand’s next Takeover special on April 1st. The original plans for that event have been revealed.
At NXT Takeover: London in December, Asuka defeated Emma, Bayley narrowly survived Nia Jax, and Finn Balor defeated Samoa Joe to reveal some of the results. At the end of 2015, Jason Jordan and Chad Gable are red-hot, Baron Corbin defeated Apollo Crews, and Sami Zayn has returned to NXT.
As of this writing, the plans are for NXT to feature Finn Balor vs. Sami Zayn for the NXT Championship and hold Balor vs. Corbin between now and then. Also, on the agenda will be Dash and Dawson defending the NXT Tag Team Champion against Jason Jordan and Chad Gable.
Both those matches will be wonderful for Wrestlemania weekend, and it’s very possible we’ll see title changes for the first time in 2016.
