This weekend, Mickie James will return to WWE programming to challenge Asuka for the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT Takeover: Toronto. Although she’s not expected to win the match, it’s going to be a triumphant return to WWE for her.

James is one of the strongest and most decorated female wrestlers in WWE history. She was put over by both Lita and Trish Stratus in the 00’s, so her return to WWE television has drawn up a lot of speculation about how long she’ll be staying for this run.

Recently, Mickie appeared on the TJR Wrestling Podcast to discuss her upcoming match with Asuka, but also addressed the rumors of her returning to WWE’s main roster after NXT Takeover: Toronto. Needless to say, she’d be very interested in the opportunity.

You can listen to the full podcast right here. Below is what she had to say about the idea:

“Absolutely I would be completely open to being on WWE’s main roster again. I also recognize that people talk about WWE’s young talent and they’re all hungry and I totally agree with that because there’s a lot of amazing talent that’s both signed and unsigned. I feel like there’s something unique, special and different that I can bring to the roster.”
