Lucha Underground Season Two Premiere Announced

The first round of Lucha Underground tapings took place a few weeks ago. The next round of tapings occur this weekend and the rumors are swirling about Rey Mysterio being a part of Lucha Underground’s second season.

The next season of Lucha Underground is going to be a very different place. Alberto Del Rio is no longer in the promotion, Melina has been replaced by Taya Valkyrie as the valet of Johnny Mundo. Catrina’s Army of death controls all the gold in The Temple and there are going to be a lot of new faces.

We’re going into the second season with a lot of questions. Who is the sister of Marty “The Moth” Martinez? What’s next for Drago and Aerostar? What kind of “unique opportunities” will Dario Cueto offer his wrestlers in over the next season? There is a lot to see, but we won’t have to wait much longer for the answers.

As of this writing, the second season will feature sixteen episodes on the El Rey Network to air on Wednesdays. Hopefully, there will be more episodes over the majority of 2016. However, some Lucha is better than no Lucha at all.
