Yesterday, Sting was officially announced as the first inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2016. WWE presented the following video tribute last night during Raw:

It’s been revealed that Ric Flair is the top choice to induct Sting into the Hall of Fame, but it has also been confirmed that “The Franchise of WCW” will be the headliner for the Class of 2016.

As far as the rest of the class has been concerned, the rumors are specifically claiming a few different names will be joining Sting in April for the WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

As of this writing, there has been consistent talk for months on WWE inducting The Fabulous Freebirds this year in Dallas. That seems like a no-brainer, but there is a lot of concern about whether Michael “PS” Hayes, Buddy Roberts and Terry Gordy will be joined by Jimmy Gavin for the induction.

The word as of now is Hayes has gotten Gavin to agree, and he’ll be joining them. However, nothing will be confirmed until WWE makes the announcement.

Other names that are being rumored is former WWE, WCW, NJPW, All Japan, AWA and NWA star Stan Hansen and Big Van Vader based on what he posted on Twitter last week.
