Yesterday, it was rumored that CM Punk would be making his UFC debut at UFC 203, but the news came with it being pushed back from UFC 202. That made the rumor not concrete enough to make it believable.
However, that rumor has enough concrete information now because it is finally official. CM Punk will make his UFC debut against Mickey Gall at UFC 203.
It’s being reported by several sources, but the news came directly from CM Punk himself last night on UFC: Unfiltered where he made it crystal clear that this is as official as it gets.
Punk spoke with Matt Serra and Jim Norton and revealed that he’s been having some injury issues, but the moment he could, he set his debut date.
The following statement was made by Punk ensuring the world that September 10th is a must-see event at UFC 203:
“I’ve been laying low media-wise, because I have nothing to say. You can’t talk a bunch of s–t until you’ve been in there, and I haven’t been. The instant I got cleared, I got on the horn and nailed everything down. I’ll be debuting on September 10th in Cleveland.”
