Heading into WrestleMania 34, the WWE Universe just assumed Finn Balor would bring back “The Demon King.” The persona hasn’t been featured on WWE programming since October. WWE officials are protective of Balor’s “Demon” and haven’t used the gimmick intentionally and elected for him debut new merchandise at WrestleMania 34 instead.

Before the Triple Threat Match between him, Seth Rollins, and The Miz, Balor debuted new merchandise supporting the LGBTQ community. He’s been promoting it since the grandest stage of them all. Most people are pleased to see Balor promoting the support on behalf of the company, but the WWE Universe still wants to see “The Demon King.”

During an interview with Sports Illustrated, the former WWE Universal Champion shed some light on the movement’s importance on WWE programming. Apparently, he was pushing the idea for six months to give the LGBTQ community more representation on WWE programming. In his own words, the message and movement for the community are much more important than bringing back “The Demon King” for a few nights a year.

Of course, it’s important for WWE to acknowledge the social issues of the country but to also show their support through Finn Balor. As a top babyface, that’s a great position for him to occupy in the company. A lot of people were disappointed “The Demon” wasn’t a part of WrestleMania, but the gimmick will return and it should be much more special.

The Demon King makes his presence known on Raw: Aug. 15, 2016

In the past, it’s been reported that WWE officials don’t want “The Demon King” to lose its importance and atmosphere for the WWE Universe. As a result, they have been very hesitant to overuse the gimmick and only bring it back for situations when Balor will go over. Seth Rollins was chosen to win the IC Title. It makes sense that Finn Balor would not bring “The Demon” back, but the good news is Finn could bring it back at any time.

Should Finn Balor use “The Demon King” persona more often?
