Finn Balor vs. Samoa Joe has become one of the greatest rivalries in NXT history. It’s certainly one of the longest since it was just announced during NXT’s last run of tapings that Balor and Joe would have their third straight match together at an NXT Takeover Special.

The next Takeover Special is set for June 8th from Full Sail University, and NXT has already booked Balor vs. Joe IV for the event but their next match will be a first for the brand.

According to DailyWrestlingNews.com, Balor vs. Joe will be the first NXT steel cage match in the brand’s history and there their feud is the perfect choice to bring the steel cage to NXT for the first time.

Their matches have been extremely physically, and this will give them a stipulation that will make their next match different and bring NXT as well as Full Sail University something they’ve never seen before.

NXT picks their gimmick matches very carefully. They’ll throw in a No Disqualification match more often than the others, but there have only been two ladder matches in the brand’s history. The powers that be are obviously picking their spot for the first steel cage match carefully as well.

Are you excited to see NXT bring the steel cage match to the brand for the first time?
